One perfect birthday / Täydellinen syntymäpäivä

Waking up. You open your eyes gently, look at the window hoping to see a glimpse of the sun. You move your toes deeper in the sheets and stretch yourself making little meow- sounds while yawning. You feel satisfied at that moment and a little smile arises on your face. You swing your feet to the floor, put some music on, go to the kitchen to warm some milk on the stove and walk to the bathroom. But hey, there are mornings when you are gently guided the already set breakfast table instead, you get a big hug a birthday wishes, in our household they sounded like this Sretan ti rođendan- Sabina. That little smile or the face that is smiling upside down turns to the biggest and most happy smile in no time and that smile lasts for the entire day. Can you imagine anything better than waking up to a surprise like that? I can. It is the feeling you get after you have prepared something in a secret for a few days, masking the ingredients in your mutual fridge so that the b-day hero herself would not suspect anything. Then you manage to get everything set before she is up and get to see that big smile on her face! Even better was the smile I saw, while getting cold milk to the table, when I secretly peeked at her and saw her smiling on her own looking sooooo happy :)

Herääminen. Silmien raotusta, ikkunan vilkaisua aurinkoisen sään toivossa, varpaiden heiluttelua lakanoissa, venyttelyä ja haukotusmaukaisuja, pieni tyytyväinen tunne vatsan pohjassa ja vieno hymy kasvoilla. Jalkojen heilautus lattialle, musiikkia soimaan ja kipitys keittiön kautta vessaan. Vaan hei, on aamuja joina toisiksi viimeistä kohtaa toteuttaessasi sinut ohjataankin suoraan valmiiseen aamupalapöytään, halataan ja toivotetaan Hyvää syntymäpäivää, meidän tapauksessamme Sretan ti rođendan- Sabina.

We celebrated Sabina's 20th birthday two times- first with our family on weekend and then on her real birthday between us sister-roommates. We went to eat to this restaurant called Fransmanni. My own dish was the Lamb entrecote. My favourite meat, that really was from heaven! The only minus was that there was too much sauce and too little meat and veggies, but it was still quite perfect. After that we had some mangocheesecake with berries on top. Our sister day was great too! After that wonderful and healthy breakfast we went shopping and drank some Italian chilichocolate drink. After that we spent our evening running around the lake for an hour and smiled the whole time. Smile was something we carried with us through the day. Her birthday really was a good day :)

Waking up to the new day is a moment when you should charge your batteries in your rested body and still sleepy mind. There's nothing better than the morning that starts good because the atmosphere in the mornings usually determines your mood for the rest of the day. Some who are slaves of their own habits do force themselves up at the same time every morning and try to keep their eyes open for the first couple of hours by the strength of caffeine- weekends are not an exception. Why? Your sleep rhythm won't suffer from a extra sleep of max. couple of hours - your brain will get used to that too. Sleeping is empowering and important especially when speaking about your physical and mental recovery and coping. The most important is not to neglect your personal need of sleep. As my shirt says good sleep and a cozy bed, stress free life and a happy attitude are keys to the vitality- Always.

As a former sufferer of sleeplessness I know what I am talking about and how hard it is to break that bloody wheel... It comes down to your own head ( unless there is a clinical condition behind your problem then you have to consult your physician!). You have to let it go if you notice that you are still awake and not get stressed about it. That's when you are on the right track. Calm down before going to sleep, exercise until all your extra energy is used, talk about your problems and let them out, make sure that your bed area is cozy and nourish your body well. Believe in your own behavioral patterns and ways to act through different situations no matter what is the case! The most important thing is to be relaxed even when you are not getting sleepy- Hakuna Matata! The less you stress the quicker the Sandman comes.

Normally people wake up feeling refreshed without any alarm clocks when their body and brain are ready.
My mornings are always calm and bright me up. I'm always looking forward to my breakfast from the moment I go to bed. You have to have time for yourself on mornings. I listen to the music while I'm putting my make up on, oatmeal is getting ready on the stove and the level of my coffee or hot chocolate falls slowly in the mug. When I'm done it's time to eat. It depends of the time of the year where I do that but my top 3 places are my divan, deep windowsill or at the balcony. After that I dress up and either walk or ride a bike to school/work. Those moments tend to be even longer if I'm having a day off but both mornings are made of same basic "blocks"- not having to hurry, joy, fresh feeling, warmth and a bright mood. On best of them you can hear birds singing and feel the sunshine on your skin. A good morning is always a sign of a good day and what would be a better reason to smile than waking up to a new day?

Living among people with no manners / Kun käytöstavat puuttuvat

The last time I really got surprised was when I came home from the final exam of the course biopharmaceutical medicines. I witnessed randomly an argue between an older couple and 20 years old girls who were dressed up like emos. This case was a bit unique... girls had peed and spit down on people from the balcony. Ehmm who the hell does that? And who the hell loves their own feces so much that they have a need to press that Share button among all that blustering? They just must be the best neighbors ever... I have to mention this feeling I have been able to enjoy of after my noisy neighbors got evicted. I have been able to sleep and just be without either hearing or smelling them. I have not felt like this since we moved in. You must know the feeling you get after something that has been long-termed and really disturbing just vanishes from your daily (and it really was 24/7) life and you can forget about the stress in your own home? I must admit that it really made me smile and jump like Charlie Chaplin when I noticed that gang carrying black waste bags down the stairs! I believe they noticed my thrilled smile too ;D. Good bye to the 24/7 smell of the cigarettes, spatters of beer in the corridor, noisy arguments and clatter through the day and night! I feel sorry for their current neighbors though...

My everyday life lately on Instagram  / Istagramissa nähtyä arkea viime viikoilta

...but I can only wonder where all the nice manners have gone? Why so few of us thank other people, say hello to the neighbor, open doors to the girlfriend or ask if somebody you don't know needs help? Is it so hard to smile back? It shouldn't be too much to do. However we are still living in a society where everyone of us social creatures could help someone or has at least a chance to say "Thank you". We need more of that southern helpful attitude and atmosphere where people do good things without a hidden motive. There's nothing more beautiful to see in a person that their charisma and beautiful character. I appreciate those good manners so much because it's the best way to make others happier and their life easier.
